Job summary

Allianz in Milan seeks a senior underwriter to develop and execute the strategy for Property & Liability risks in the Italian market, reporting to the Property Team Leader. You will connect with the Group and support local strategy to hit Mid Corporate targets, acting as contact for selected agents.

The role combines risk assessment, pricing, and governance, with leadership responsibilities and collaboration across Sales, Risk Consulting, Claims and product lines to drive growth and maintain

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Economics or Law.
• 4-8 years proven experience in underwriting profitable Property including PD/BI and Theft and Liability for Corporate Clients.
• Preference for Multinational client experience.
• Strong leadership and risk assessment capabilities.
• Pricing, market analysis, and policy administration knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Ensure underwriters comply with underwriting authority, pricing and rating guidelines.
• Steer and control the portfolio at local level to drive the achievement of financial targets.
• Review performance of end-to-end underwriting life cycle with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with Sales, Risk Consulting, Claims and other product lines to drive cross-selling.
• Ensure underwriting consistency and adherence to corporate guidelines and local regulatory framework.
• Support development and implementation of new/modified products.
• Assist acquisition and retention of business including agent/broker negotiations.

Job Purpose/Role

Based in Milan and reporting to the Property Team Leader, you will be in charge of developing and executing the strategy for the Property & Liability risks into the Italian market. With strong ties to the Group, you will also support the local strategy to ensure the successful achievement of the Allianz Mid Corporate targets. You will be also the contact person for selected agents working with the Mid-Corporate team.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure underwriters comply with underwriting authority, pricing and rating guidelines.
• Steer and control the portfolio at local level to drive the achievement of financial targets.
• Proactively liaise with functional areas to review performance of end-to-end underwriting life cycle.
• Work closely with Sales departments, Risk Consulting, Claims and other product lines to achieve key marketing strategies, including cross-selling.
• Ensure underwriting consistency and underwriting discipline and adherence to all corporate guidelines and authority levels, including Rules and Principles, Underwriting Authorities, corporate governance rules and local regulatory framework.
• Proactively support the development and implementation of new and/or modified products
• Support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including agent and broker negotiations)
• Communicate local business strategy externally

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

• Master's degree in Engineering or Economics or Law
• 4-8 years proven experience in underwriting profitable Property including both PD/BI and Theft and Liability business for Corporate Clients
• Preference if also experienced in Multinational clients.
• Proven leadership skills
• Expertise in risk assessment and a firm understanding of policy administration life cycle.
• Sound knowledge of pricing, together with strong market analysis skills
• Ideally experience in designing, developing, and implementing consistent and robust wordings
• Ideally experience in driving underwriting projects

• Able to work in an international organization.

Pursuant to Article 5(1) of Legislative Decree No. 96 of 7 May 2026, as amended and supplemented from time to time, the range applicable to the position offered is between € 40.000,00 gross and € 50.000,00 gross. Employment will be subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the National Collective Labor Agreement for Insurance Companies and the applicable Company Agreement. The final determination of the starting remuneration will be based on an evaluation of the candidate's qualifications, skills, and relevant experience in relation to the requirements of the role.
