Job summary

Allianz in Milan seeks an experienced liability risk specialist to develop and execute the strategy for Liability & Environmental Impairment Liability risks in Italy. You will connect with the Group and support local strategies to meet mid-corporate targets, serving as the contact for agents and brokers.

You will lead underwriting, pricing and portfolio control, collaborating across Sales, Risk Consulting and Claims to drive growth while ensuring governance and compliance with local rules.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Law or Economics.
• Significant experience (5-7 years) in underwriting profitable Liability business for corporate clients.
• Preference if also experienced in PI / D&O / Cyber Risks / Legal Expenses and multinational programs.
• Proven leadership skills and strong communication ability.
• Expertise in risk assessment and policy administration life cycle.
• Strong pricing knowledge and market analysis.

Responsibilities

Job Purpose/Role

Based in Milan and reporting to the Liability Team, you will be in charge of developing and executing the strategy for the Liability & Environmental Impairment Liability risks into the Italian market. With strong ties to the Group, you will also support the local strategy to ensure the successful achievement of the Allianz Mid Corporate targets. You will be also the contact person for agents and/or brokers working with the Liability Team.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure underwriters comply with underwriting authority, pricing and rating guidelines
• Steer and control the portfolio at local level in conjunction with the Head of Liability to drive the achievement of financial targets
• Proactively liaise with functional areas to review performance of end to end underwriting life cycle
• Work closely with Sales departments, Risk Consulting, Claims and other product lines to achieve key marketing strategies, including cross-selling
• Ensure underwriting consistency and underwriting discipline and adherence to all corporate guidelines and authority levels, including Rules and Principles, Underwriting Authorities, corporate governance rules and local regulatory framework
• Proactively support the development and implementation of new and/or modified products
• Support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including agent and broker negotiations)
• Communicate local business strategy externally

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

• Master's degree in Law or Economics or equivalent
• Significant experience (5-7 years) in underwriting profitable Liability business for corporate clients
• Preference if also experienced in PI / D&O / Cyber Risks / Legal Expenses as well as in Multinational Clients/Programs.
• Proven leadership skills
• Expertise in risk assessment and a firm understanding of policy administration life cycle
• Sound knowledge of pricing, together with strong market analysis skills
• Ideally experience in designing, developing, and implementing consistent and robust wordings
• Ideally experience in driving underwriting projects

Permanent contract

Pursuant to Article 5(1) of Legislative Decree No. 96 of 7 May 2026, as amended and supplemented from time to time, the range applicable to the position offered is between €45,000 gross and €55,000 gross. Employment will be subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the National Collective Labor Agreement for Insurance Companies and the applicable Company Agreement. The final determination of the starting remuneration will be based on an evaluation of the candidate's qualifications, skills, and relevant experience in relation to the requirements of the role.
