The Wood Group in Corsico (Milan) is hiring a Project Engineer to join the engineering, procurement and construction of complex plants in chemical, petrochemical and energy sectors. The role offers hybrid work with up to two days from home and international mobility.

You will support the Senior Project Engineer and coordinate a multidisciplinary team, attending client reviews and assisting on-site during erection activities. Fluent in English and Italian required.

Competenze

• Degree in mechanical, chemical or energy engineering.
• 2-3 years of proven experience in a similar role.
• Self-motivation and proactive/dynamic outlook.
• Ability to coordinate medium/large engineering teams.
• Fluent in English and Italian.

Description

Wood is recruiting for a Project Engineer to join its Projects business line focusing on engineering, procurement and construction of complex plants in the Chemical, Petrochemical and Energy industries. The position will be based in Corsico (Milan) office, with the possibility to work from home up to two days per week.

The Role

You will prepare key multidisciplinary documents which require interaction with several technical disciplines and will assist the Senior Project Engineer or the Project Engineering Manager in the coordination of the engineering team. You will attend technical project reviews with Client, such as P&ID review, HAZOP, 3D model review, and ensure all Client’s comments will be captured in the design. You will also be assigned to construction site, to give technical assistance during the erection of the plant.

Responsibilities

• Mechanize the P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) form the process issue up to the issue for construction
• Prepare the Equipment List, the Line List, the Fluid List, the Tie-in List
• Coordinate with other project engineers, also in Wood Global Execution Center (India)
• Prepare Material Requisitions for special items and other miscellaneous equipment, and coordinate with Vendors
• Prepare the Hazardous Area Classification and the Fire Hazardous Area
• Support the Senior Project Engineer or Engineering Manager in the technical coordination of the engineering disciplines
• Attend project review with Client
• Be assigned to construction site

Expected

• Educated to degree level in mechanical, chemical or energy engineering
• At least 2-3 years of proven experience in a similar role.
• Self-motivation, a proactive/dynamic outlook and good communication skills
• Ability to technically deal with other disciplines and to coordinate medium / large engineering teams
• Fluent in English and Italian
• Availability to be relocated abroad is essential

Desirable

• Similar experiences in other major engineering companies
• Understanding of multidisciplinary engineering workflows, from basic design up to the issue for construction
• Experience in P&IDs development / mechanization / updating
• Previous experience at construction site
• Knowledge of French or German is considered an advantage

Compensation and compliance

Contract & Classification

• Contract type: Permanent
• Collective Agreement (CCNL): Industria Metalmeccanica (CNEL C011)
• Job Classification level: Impiegato, consistent with role requirements and applicable CCNL

Compensation

• Gross Annual Salary: the initial gross annual salary will be € 37,563.40, paid in 14 instalments
• The compensation package will include applicable CCNL elements and company benefits
• Variable pay and additional benefits will be detailed during the selection process
