Job summary

Prysmian Group in Lombardy, Italy seeks an Project Buyer to secure efficient procurement and subcontracting for large EPCI cable projects. You will report to the Project Procurement Manager and collaborate with management, engineering and operations to align procurement with schedules and ensure timely delivery from Milan.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering/Supply Chain/Economics.
• 5+ years in procurement or related fields.
• Knowledge of contractual templates and principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end subcontracting activities in EPCI projects within the assigned region/category.
• Develop subcontracting strategies aligned with project schedules and risk plans.
• Optimize cost structures while meeting tight timelines and ensuring service reliability.
• Monitor vendor performance via KPIs.
• Handle critical escalations through multi-stakeholder coordination.
• Coordinate with Project Management, Engineering and Operations for alignment of procurement and execution.
• Ensure contractual compliance including insurance, liabilities and delivery terms.
• Lead scouting and development of local vendors.
• Impact large-scale energy projects and contribute to energy transition.

As Project Buyer, you will secure efficient procurement and subcontracting solutions for large-scale EPCI cable projects, reporting to the Project Procurement Manager. You’ll align subcontracting with project schedules, manage vendor performance, and coordinate across management, engineering, and operations to ensure compliant, timely delivery. Your work directly supports energy transition and contributes to the success of major energy projects from Milan. This is a hands‑on role with cross‑functional impact and visible procurement leadership.
