Job summary

Prysmian Group seeks a Project Buyer to secure efficient procurement and subcontracting solutions for large-scale EPCI cable projects in Italy. You will align subcontracting with project schedules and manage vendor performance, reporting to the Project Procurement Manager.

The role is hands-on with cross-functional impact across engineering, operations and management to ensure timely, compliant delivery from Milan.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Economics.
• 5+ years in procurement or related fields.
• Knowledge of contractual templates and principles.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
• Stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Teamwork, results orientation and collaboration.
• Procurement and subcontracting management with KPI awareness.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end subcontracting activities in EPCI projects within the assigned region/category.
• Develop subcontracting strategies aligned with project schedules and risk plans.
• Optimize cost structures while meeting tight timelines and ensuring service reliability.
• Monitor vendor performance via KPIs and manage escalations with stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Project Management, Engineering and Operations for alignment.
• Ensure contractual compliance including insurance, liabilities and delivery terms.

Overview

As Project Buyer, you will secure efficient procurement and subcontracting solutions for large-scale EPCI cable projects, reporting to the Project Procurement Manager. You’ll align subcontracting with project schedules, manage vendor performance, and coordinate across management, engineering, and operations to ensure compliant, timely delivery. Your work directly supports energy transition and contributes to the success of major energy projects from Milan. This is a hands‑on role with cross‑functional impact and visible procurement leadership.
