Job summary

G.D, part of Coesia, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Engineering department in Bologna to support the Flexpack projects team from concept to completion. You will design components and machine groups, modify existing units, draft technical documentation, and collaborate with Electronics, Pneumatics and Kinematics teams while exploring AI applications.

• Master's degree or ITIS/ITS Maker qualification with relevant experience.
• Knowledge of parametric design; Creo modelling and CAD tools are a plus.

• Willing to travel 15–20% for projects and customer site work.
• Team player with curiosity and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking a mechanical engineer to join our Engineering department, supporting the Flexpack projects team. The successful candidate will work alongside Senior Mechanical Designers, managing projects from concept to completion, to develop full autonomy.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will

• Design mechanical components as well as small machine groups;
• Modify already existing machine groups, develop whole machine functions;
• Draft relevant technical documentation;
• Support the assembly and testing department for ongoing modifications;
• Support the installation department on customer field;
• Strong collaboration with the Electronics, Pneumatics and Kinematics Departments;
• Design review with cross-functional team;
• Seek for AI application opportunities inside Technical department
• Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation activities within the engineering team

What You Need to Be Successful

To be successful in the role, you must have a strong and keen interest in designing activities and an innate aptitude for working with customers and colleagues. You are a team player.

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2–5 years of relevant experience, or an ITIS diploma / ITS Maker qualification with 5–9 years of relevant professional experience in a similar business, preferably within the packaging industry.
• Know parametric designing tools. Understanding of Creo Modelling and CAD Tools will be considered a plus;
• You are willing to learn SAP and Oracle. If you already have, it will be considered a plus;
• You feel at ease speaking, reading, and writing in English;
• You are thrilled about potential business trips (15-20%);
• You are handy, flexible, and curious.
• Previous experience of teamwork (also at sport/university level)
• You are willing to use AI as a key success factor. If you already have experiences about this topic, it will be considered as a plus

Our Offer

Compensation for this role includes a base salary starting from EUR 40,000, in line with experience. The actual offer may exceed this minimum based on the candidate's qualifications and fit for the role.

A range of additional benefits (e.g., insurances, etc.) is also available in accordance with Company policy.

The applicable collective agreement is the CCNL Metalmeccanico.
