Job summary

ABB Italy is seeking a Procurement Engineer to bridge Procurement, Engineering and R&D, translating engineering requests into procurement parameters and driving cost, quality and technology improvements across development projects. The role supports ELSB, Energy Distribution, P&EM in Italy with key stakeholders in R&D, engineering, local procurement teams and category managers.

The position is #LI-Hybrid with flexible hours and a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Skilled in should-cost modeling, value chain analysis and supplier development in electrical equipment/energy distribution.
• At least 5 years in procurement within NPD programs as Procurement Engineer or Project Buyer for mechanical/electromechanical/electronics components.
• Proficient in SAP/SAP Ariba or ERP; familiar with PLM and project management tools.
• Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management; innovative in problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial) or proven supply chain/business admin with strong technical background.
• Excellent Italian and English communication for international stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage ordering and on-time delivery of prototype parts with suppliers per project plans.
• Lead procurement gate model activities and maintain project procurement documents.
• Estimate initial cost and quality to meet product targets.
• Optimize cost and quality across development projects.
