Job summary

Westlake Global Compounds in Samarate, Italy, invites applications for a Process Engineer (m/f/d) to drive analysis, optimization, and continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes and to manage CAPEX projects with cross‑functional teams, aiming for higher efficiency, quality, safety, and cost effectiveness.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s or Master in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering, with 5+ years in PVC compounding or chemical manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of practical experience ideally in PVC compounding or the chemical industry.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, maintenance, and control systems.
• PLCs and basic programming logic; ISO 13485 knowledge is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on mindset.
• English proficiency and cross-functional collaboration across levels.
• ERP/MES experience, preferably SAP.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and monitor production processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement data-driven improvements
• Support preventive and extraordinary maintenance planning and ensure spare parts availability
• Collaborate with HSE on supplier management, documentation, and safety compliance
• Participate in equipment, machinery, and process validation and support troubleshooting
• Analyze technical and production KPIs, identify root causes, drive corrective actions
• Contribute to Quality Management System, including safety and environment procedures
• Define technical, quality, and production specifications for new investments and manage CAPEX projects from budgeting to commissioning

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Process Engineer, you will drive the analysis, optimization, and continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes. You will manage plant CAPEX projects and work cross-functionally to enhance efficiency, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s or Master degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of practical experience ideally in PVC compounding or the chemical industry
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, maintenance, and control systems
• Familiarity with PLCs and basic programming logic; knowledge of ISO 13485 is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands‑on, shop‑floor oriented mindset
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written) and ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels
• Experience working with ERP/MES systems (preferably SAP) is an advantage
