Sonoco in Emilia-Romagna is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to optimize production processes, collect KPI data and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to raise efficiency, quality and cost performance while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

You will monitor OEE and line performance, develop and trial new technologies, drive lean and Six Sigma initiatives, and implement SOPs to measure and improve process efficiencies.

Competenze

  • Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Knowledge of SPC, Six Sigma, 5S, SMED and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Languages: Good knowledge of English.
  • Project management skills
  • Team approach
  • Advanced PC skills: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

  • Monitor process performance and KPIs (e.g., OEE, line spoilage).
  • Development and trials of new technologies to guarantee final production quality.

Job scope

Optimizing and continuously improving operational and production processes. Analysing and collect data for KPI through statistical tools . The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost performance while ensuring compliance with company standards and safety requirements.

Main duties
  • Monitoring process performance and KPIs (like OEE, line spoilage, performance,…)
  • Development and trials of new technologies in order to guarantee the final quality of the production.
  • Search constantly the process continuous improvement through new technologies implementation and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Use appropriate Lean, Six Sigma and data analysis tools to provide appropriate information for data-driven decisions
  • Development and implementation of Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) to control and measure the efficiencies, evaluating the equipment, methods of measurements, consumables and spoilage
  • Collect data and analyze process levels of efficiency identifying the bests alternatives in order to maximize efficiency, quality and reduce costs
  • Work according to Hygiene and Food Safety rules as well as Health and Safety regulations and procedures as specified in our procedures

Job requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Knowledge of principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations including SPC, Six Sigma, 5S, SMED and Lean Manufacturing
  • Languages: Good knowledge of English

  • Team approach
  • Advanced knowledge of PC’s and software programs Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Good knowledge of Hygiene and Food Safety and Health and Safety rules and Environmental
