Job summary

UL LLC seeks Principal Engineer - Digital AI to lead AI governance, enterprise AI, and lifecycle assurance. This hybrid role requires 3 days onsite globally; remote is possible for non-local candidates. Translate regulations and standards into scalable UL Solutions offerings, collaborating with product, risk, and advisory teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years' technical experience across software platforms, cloud, AI/ML, cybersecurity, risk, and lifecycle management.
• Experience translating AI governance and regulatory requirements into practical evaluation and certification programs.
• Ability to evaluate AI systems for failure modes, risks, and control gaps including bias, privacy, and safety.
• Knowledge of AI evaluation methods: benchmarking, red teaming, scenario testing, and model monitoring.
• Knowledge of predictive and generative AI, LLMs, RAG, AI agents, multi-agent systems, and governance risks.
• Strong presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
