Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking a Principal Engineer - Digital AI to act as the global SME for Digital AI, driving governance, assurance, and advisory services across enterprise and cloud AI systems.

The role requires 15+ years in AI/tech domains, with 5+ years in AI technologies, and a proven ability to translate regulatory needs into practical evaluation methodologies and offerings. Hybrid work with some remote consideration is available.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI or related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
15+ years in software platforms, cloud systems, AI/ML, cybersecurity, risk, or related tech domains.
Experience translating AI governance and regulatory requirements into evaluation methodologies and services.
Ability to test AI systems for performance, transparency, safety, and bias.

Responsibilities

Serve as Global SME for Digital AI, shaping standards, certification and advisory offerings.
Provide technical leadership for AI governance, predictive/Generative AI, and RAG/LLM tech.
Translate regulations and customer needs into scalable UL Solutions services.
Lead evaluation methodologies, controls, and assurance programs with stakeholders.
