Job summary

Trina Solar Co. in Rome is seeking an experienced origination professional to drive Italian solar and storage offtake contracts from first contact to signature.

You will originate long-term PPAs, short-term route-to-market contracts and revenue contracts, coordinating with finance, legal and middle office.

Based in Rome, you'll report to the Director of Energy Management & PPA Origination, and travel regularly within Italy and occasionally across Europe.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years in the Italian power market: origination, structuring, trading or route-to-market.
• Understanding of how renewable and storage assets make money in Italy: zonal prices, dispatching and balancing.
• Fluent Italian and English (C1 or above).
• A degree in engineering, economics, finance or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Run offtake processes for Italian solar and BESS projects: prepare tender, shortlist counterparties, compare bids, and recommend.
• Originate long-term PPA opportunities with utilities, traders and industrial buyers; support negotiation through to signature.
• Originate short-term route-to-market contracts covering dispatching, imbalance and GO sales.
• Structure revenue contracts for battery storage including tolling, floors and revenue-share arrangements.
• Collaborate with middle office on pricing and understand drivers to explain them to counterparties.
• Ensure contracts are bankable for lenders and buyers; review term sheets and long-form contracts with legal.
