Job summary

Generali Italia is seeking an motivated finance graduate or early-career professional to join the Planning & Control function. You will assist budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting across Generali Investments, coordinating with international teams to monitor performance and support strategic decisions.

The role emphasizes analytical skills, data handling, and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with exposure to reporting tools like Tagetik or Power BI.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Management Engineering, or related fields (ongoing or recently completed).
• Fluency in English and Italian, both written and spoken.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong interest in financial analysis, budgeting, controlling, and business performance monitoring.
• Analytical mindset and confidence in working with data and numerical information.
• Previous internship or university project experience in finance, controlling, consulting, or related fields is considered a plus.
• Knowledge of Tagetik, Power BI or other reporting tools is considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Budgeting & forecasting support: assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and planning activities; support data collection and consolidation.
• Financial reporting: contribute to periodic management reports, presentations, and analysis for internal stakeholders and senior management.
• Business performance analysis: support monitoring of key indicators, including AUM, net flows, revenues and costs; assist in variance analysis.
• Data collection & consolidation: collaborate with international teams to gather, validate, and consolidate financial and business information for reporting.
• Cost control activities: support budget tracking and expenditure monitoring to align actual costs with budgets.
• Dashboard & reporting tools: assist in maintaining and improving reporting files, dashboards, and analytical tools.
• Ad hoc analysis: support financial analyses and materials related to strategic initiatives and business reviews.

Education

The Planning & Control function coordinates strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting activities across Generali Investments. The team works closely with internal stakeholders and international business entities to monitor financial performance, support decision-making processes, and ensure effective budget and cost control.

Through financial analysis, reporting, and business performance monitoring, the function contributes to strategic initiatives and supports senior management in driving sustainable business growth.

• Budgeting & forecasting support: assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and planning activities; support the collection and consolidation of data from different business entities.
• Financial reporting: contribute to the preparation of periodic management reports, presentations, and analysis for internal stakeholders and senior management.
• Business performance analysis: support the monitoring of key business indicators, including financial results, assets under management (AUM), net flows, revenues, and costs; assist in variance analysis against budget and forecasts.

• Cost control activities: support budget tracking and expenditure monitoring activities, helping ensure alignment between actual costs and planned budgets.

Requirements
