Job summary

Advocate Health seeks an organized patient access specialist to manage front-desk duties and patient flow. Responsibilities include greeting patients, verifying demographics and insurance, and completing registrations for walk-ins.

You will communicate financial responsibilities, collect balances, and assist with pre-certification and referrals while maintaining compliance with payer rules. A team-oriented, fast-paced environment awaits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with medical office exposure preferred.
• Ability to understand Medicare, HIPAA and EMTALA rules and apply them.
• Strong written and verbal communication and data accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and manages flow for efficient, courteous service.
• Verifies insurance and demographics; completes registration for walk-ins.
• Resolves financial responsibilities and assists with pre-certifications.
• Schedules follow-ups and closes visits, providing required documents.
• Maintains knowledge of payer requirements and communicates issues to management.
