Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Post secondary education in a business related field is preferred.
• Six months or more working in a related field.
• Previous work in the health care field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and collects required demographic information, arranging assistance for non-English speakers.
• Verifies mailing address and notes any discrepancies in documentation.
• Completes registrations promptly per procedures for problem orders.
• Obtains signatures for consent and related forms, providing copies to patients.
• Enters insurance information and scans cards and IDs into the system.
• Communicates patient financial responsibility for co-pays and deductibles, and records deposits.
• Captures Medicare information and verifies eligibility dates in the system.
• Verifies procedures and diagnoses, completes ABN forms when applicable, and scans waivers.
• Registers patients by correct type using physician orders and schedules.
• Obtains complete physician orders and follows up with physicians as needed.
• Notes pertinent information into computer records for follow-up.
• Manages daily deposits and cash handling securely.
• Handles faxes, files orders, and responds to inquiries in a timely manner.
• Conducts pre-admission phone calls to collect account numbers for pre-authorizations.
• Attends mandatory department meetings and performs other duties as assigned.
