Joybuy is seeking a senior leader to own the Europe Book category strategy across multiple markets. You will drive revenue, gross margin, inventory health, and profitability while coordinating with publishing seasons.

You’ll lead negotiations with international publishers, optimize assortments and pricing for local markets, and ensure compliance with European and national rules. Collaborate with marketing, supply chain, and tech to enhance cross‑sell and recommendations.

Competenze

• 8+ years of experience in category management, marketing, or e‑commerce within consumer goods, media, or publishing, with at least 3 years in a team leadership role for books or related content products.
• 3+ years leading a books-focused team or content product line.
• Deep understanding of European book retail markets and familiarity with BISAC/Thema classifications.
• Experience in book supply chain dynamics and procurement values exceeding €10 million annually.
• Strong analytical skills with Excel/BI to analyse sales attribution, cross-category affinity and conversion funnels.
• Proven experience managing book categories on cross-border platforms (e.g., Amazon, Zalando) is preferred.
• Owner mindset and strong cross-cultural communication in a fast-paced, cross-border environment.

• Define and own the annual and mid-to-long-term Book category strategy across Europe, driving revenue, gross margin, inventory health, and net profit across multiple countries.
• Lead in-depth analysis of consumer trends and competitive dynamics; develop country-specific assortment and pricing tactics respecting local regulations.
• Drive top-level commercial negotiations with international publishing groups and independent local publishers; coordinate rights cycles for digital releases.
• Ensure compliance with EU publishing laws, pricing regulations, and content rules; oversee cross-border VAT and customs and monitor Digital Services Act impacts.
• Partner with supply chain to forecast inventory for launches, optimize cross-border logistics costs, and manage unit-heavy, low-price books.
• Collaborate with marketing on themed lists, author events, and reader communities; improve product pages with localized copy and A+ content; work with tech to enhance recommendations.
• Build and mentor a multicultural category team, establish efficient selection-review processes, and coordinate with operations and tech to refine search and personalization.
• Conduct regular business reviews with book-specific metrics and pivot strategies to drive sustainable growth and brand equity.
