Provides the initiative, technical ability, and responsibility to assist the Plant Manager in managing the operation and maintenance of the power plant or plants consistent with the mission of the Cooperative. This role involves supervising plant operations, maintenance planning and scheduling, budget estimating, vendor selection, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Plant O&M Manager will keep the Plant Manager informed of all operation, maintenance, environmental, and safety activities and issues.

Must have a thorough understanding of all aspects of utility power plant operation and maintenance including principles of combustion, heat transfer, thermodynamics, mechanics, fluid mechanics, electrical theory, instrumentation and control theory, water treatment, etc. Must also have clear understanding of the fundamentals of accounting, management, scheduling and mathematics. Must be skilled in working with and through others.
