Jobgether is seeking a Data API Engineer based in Italy to enhance a PostgreSQL-powered Data API used by developers worldwide. You will work on PostgREST, improving database connectivity, query performance, and feature development for a scalable, multitenant API.

You will collaborate with a distributed team, investigate complex issues, and contribute to open-source tooling while prioritizing observability and reliability in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional Haskell experience.
• Proficient in C and systems-level programming.
• Strong SQL and PostgreSQL skills, including PL/pgSQL.
• Experience debugging in Linux environments and diagnosing root causes.
• Contributions to open-source projects are a plus.
• Proven ability to diagnose performance bottlenecks and improve reliability.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Improve the PostgreSQL driver connectivity and optimize performance.
• Develop new Data API capabilities for a scalable, multitenant API.
• Enhance reliability, investigate issues, and implement fixes.
• Strengthen observability with better monitoring and diagnostics.
• Handle incidents and escalated support tasks efficiently.
