Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a mid-level Data Platform Engineer based in Italy to transform an established data and ML platform into a scalable, self-service environment. You will build deployment pipelines, IaC modules, and reusable tooling to empower engineering teams across data, backend, and infra disciplines.

You will join an AI-enabled engineering culture that values technical judgment, accountability, and the ability to explain and validate code.

Qualifications

• End-to-end deployment ownership from pipeline to runbook.
• About two years or more in software, data, platform, DevOps, or infra roles.
• Degree in CS, Engineering, or related field required.
• Practical Python and SQL use in professional tasks.
• Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Ability to navigate and explain unfamiliar codebases.
• Docker and AWS experience; SageMaker familiarity not required.
• Willingness to collaborate across data, backend, and infra teams.
• Comfort with AI coding assistants and critical review of output.
• Ownership mindset and willingness to take responsibility.
• Respect for existing patterns and architecture.
• Strong communication and reasoning under discussion.
• Motivation to learn new tools and domains.

Responsibilities

• Improve CI/CD pipelines and adapt workflows for reliable software delivery.
• Develop and extend infrastructure-as-code modules for consistency.
• Apply data governance standards for new data services.
• Build self-service tooling with preconfigured CI/CD, IaC, and governance.
• Create reusable modules to simplify pipeline creation.
• Write practical documentation, runbooks, and guides for operators.
• Own data access workflows and streamline permission processes.
• Progress toward full ownership of template repo and modules.
• Collaborate across data, backend, and infra teams to improve reliability.
• Integrate AI-assisted development tools with responsible review.
