Job summary

Saipem Offshore Construction (SOC) is seeking an Offshore Installation Analyses Engineer to contribute to the structural integrity of welds on Saipem offshore vessels and in prefabrication yards, as part of the Asset Based Services Business Line.

You will perform structural analyses of welds, learn PIPTECH welding and NDT techniques, apply fracture mechanics, and use FE tools such as ABAQUS and ANSYS, with assignments in Italy, Romania and France.

Qualifications

Education: Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering with structural engineering skills.
Background: Structural Integrity Engineering 0-2 years; use of Finite Element Software is a plus.
Languages: English knowledge min B1.
Technical/IT: Prior experience valuable but not required; programming in Fortran/VB/Python is a plus.
FE experience with ABAQUS/ANSYS is valuable but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform structural analyses of welds performed by Saipem on installation vessels and at yards to define allowable flaw sizes for NDT verification and repair selection.
Acquire skills in PIPTECH welding and non-destructive testing in offshore field.
Use FE tools for non-linear analyses and complex geometries; apply fracture mechanics principles.
Follow up mechanical testing of weld/structure materials and coordinate with testing labs.
