NDE Operations Leader – Oil & Gas

Job summary

Alfa Laval is seeking an experienced NDE Manager for a role based in Suisio, Italy. You will oversee non-destructive testing operations, ensuring compliance with contract quality control plans and leading NDT teams to guarantee continuous progress through assembly phases.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in NDE management within Oil & Gas or pressure equipment, with Level 2 certifications in VT/MT/PT/RT/UT and a strong command of English and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in NDE management in Oil & Gas or pressure equipment.
• ISO 9712 and ASNT SNT-TC-1A Level 2 in VT, MT, PT, RT, UT required (PHA, TOFD, LT preferred). Level 3 a plus.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code and UNI EN ISO standards.
• ISO 9001/ISO 14001/ISO 45001 familiarity; medically fit for heights and confined spaces.
• Proven leadership, team management and problem-solving abilities.
• Technical English and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead internal and external NDT personnel across shifts and allocate resources.
• Oversee NDT execution (VT, PT, MT, UT, PHA, TOFD, LT) on fabrication and incoming materials.
• Review QC Plans with the QC Inspector and report inspection outcomes for certification.
• Interpret radiography and witness inspections in presence of clients or inspectors.
• Drive NCRs, support production troubleshooting, and participate in client audits.
• Ensure availability and calibration of all NDE instruments and calibration blocks.
