Job summary

Eight Sleep in Milan is seeking a motivated new graduate to join the mobile team. You will own and ship features for iOS and Android apps from day one, gaining exposure to end-to-end product development and a fast-paced startup environment.

You should have recently graduated or be close to graduation with a degree in computer science or software engineering, and have shipped mobile projects (App Store or Play Store).

Qualifications

• Built and shipped mobile projects: published App Store or Play Store app, portfolio project, or internship work.
• Solid fundamentals in Swift (SwiftUI) or Kotlin (Jetpack Compose), and curiosity to learn the other.
• Evidence of initiative: side projects, open-source contributions, hackathon wins, or anything you built because you couldn’t not build it.
• English fluency
• Comfort using AI in your engineering workflow: Claude, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot to write, debug, and ship code faster.
• A high bar for product quality and UI; you notice when an animation is 100ms off.
• Fast learner who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and graduating soon with a CS/SE degree.
• Legal permit to work in the EU and willingness to work from Milan
• Bonus points for: builder mindset, shipped side projects, experience with iOS and Android, CI/CD, AI/ML projects, hardware-related apps, etc.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship features across iOS and Android apps from prototype to production.
• Write clean, tested production code and participate in code reviews from day one.
• Keep apps fast, stable, and polished with attention to UI details.
• Collaborate with firmware, ML, and hardware teams to bring Pod features to life.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate development and automate repetitive tasks.
• Own problems, not just tickets: analyze data, find root causes, and ensure fixes reach production.
