Saipem, a global leader in engineering and construction for energy and infrastructure, seeks a Metallurgy-Welding Engineer for its ENCAR Business line. You will handle metallurgy and welding for onshore plants, offshore facilities, pipelines, refinery processes, and related fabrication stages.

The role requires a Master’s or Bachelor’s in Materials or Mechanical Engineering, at least 5 years as a Welding Engineer, English fluency, and willingness to travel worldwide.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Materials or Mechanical Engineering.
• IWE certificate would be an asset and NDT certifications are advantageous.
• Fluent written and spoken English; a second language is appreciated.

Responsabilités

• Provide metallurgical and welding expertise to all engineering disciplines to meet standards.
• Analyze client and end-user tender documents regarding metallic materials and fabrication processes.
• Prepare and update welding specifications, PMI, NDT tables, and tech specs for materials and consumables.
• Review and issue welding documents (pWPS, WPS, PQR), repair/heat treatment procedures, and qualification matrices.
• Define and witness trial tests, manage welding qualifications (via subcontractors or direct hire), and supervise until the Welding Book is issued.
• Collaborate with internal departments, research bodies (TWI, EWI, IIS), and vendors to monitor material performance and adopt new welding technologies.
