Job summary

Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center Infusion Clinic in Rome is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant for a full-time role. You will perform rooming, vital signs, med reconciliation, medical history review, and assist providers with procedures.

The position requires lab duties including venipuncture, POCT, and CLIA-waived testing, with emphasis on accurate documentation and patient care continuity. Schedule: Mon–Fri 7:30am–4pm, 40 hours/week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or related military training may be accepted.
• 2 years of verifiable full-time Medical Assistant experience within the last 5 years for some divisions.
• BLS/CPR certification within required timeframes depending on division and department policy.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and supports policy/compliance requirements.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, med reconciliation, history, screenings, and health maintenance.
• Assists providers with procedures and performs lab duties including venipuncture and specimen handling.
• Maintains CLIA-waived lab tests and unit-specific diagnostic testing under standing orders and policies.
