Job summary

Dometic in Pescara, Italy, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the Mobile Power Solutions product portfolio. You will shape mechanical design, collaborate across PD, Sales, Marketing, and manufacturing, and support from concept to production in an international setting.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on CAD proficiency (SolidWorks/ SolidEdge), product development experience, and knowledge of automotive and EMC standards, with fluency in Italian and English.

Qualifications

• Solid academic education in Engineering.
• Experience in product development and 3D CAD (SolidWorks, SolidEdge or similar).
• Experience in testing and validating products.
• Knowledge of power Mechanicals and topology and control schemes.
• Experience in Industrialization of products for easy assembly.
• Knowledge in automotive environment, reliability and safety requirements.
• Knowledge of EMC automotive standards (UN ECE).
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Fluent Italian and English to communicate with team members and report to project management.
• Experience with Microsoft O365 tools, PIM & ERP systems, Project Management Tools (e.g. Antura, Wrike).
• Experience working in an international setup.

Responsibilities

• Together with Marketing & Sales: Product launches, customer communications and events planning.
• Monitor competitors, related technology, and market trends.
• Test products and support and facilitate their validation.
• Product presentations & trainings with Marketing & Sales for events.

About the position

As Mechanical Engineer you will have deep knowledge of EMEA MPS product portfolio and will help to the product strategy together with major key stakeholders, such as PD, Sales, Marketing, etc. to ensure a profitable growth in their respective ownership of a certain product portfolio.

Your main responsibilities

• Design of mechanical details of power Mechanicals.
• Collaborate with designers and backend developers to translate user requirements into technical specifications and implement innovative solutions.
• Support all stages of development from specification to design, prototype, and manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects, performance issues, and other technical problems.
• Collaborative work with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain).
• Together with the marketing department Product Manager ensures a successful market launch and customer communication and event planning (e.g. trade fairs etc.), to make sure that the products are positioned and recognized as intended by the market.
• Will continuously monitor competitors, related technology, and markets trends
• Will continuously test products and support and facilitate their validation
• Additional Responsibilities in Cooperation with Marketing & Sales: Product presentations & Product trainings (train internal sales teams, support for special customer events)

A suitable background would be

• Solid academic education in Engineering
