Nokia is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Italy to contribute to the development of pluggable modules for Optical Networks. You will own the mechanical assembly design from concept through fabrication, testing and validation, interfacing with HW Designers, Optical Engineers and manufacturers.
You will work in a multinational environment, require MS in Mechanical Engineering, hands-on CAD with CREO, and willingness to travel across Europe and the Far East.

As a member of our pluggable design team, you’ll be working alongside other experienced and multidisciplinary teams with strong records of delivering innovative products contributing in the supply chain for the increasing AI deployments worldwide and telco providers.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the overall physical design of the pluggable modules and will interface with HW Designers, Optical Engineers, Thermal Simulation Engineers and manufacturers to ensure: form factor compliance, thermal dissipation requirements and manufacturability.
This also involves ownership of test reports and physical component documentation management and the ability to interact with different stakeholders across various time zones.

Education: MS in Mechanical Engineering.
Hands-on experience and proficiency in CAD modeling (CREO preferred) and physical component development.
Fluency in English interest to work in a multinational company environment
Availability to travel across Europe and Far East Asia when needed
Expertise in mechanical design and thermal simulations and design verification in miniaturized components
Previous experience or knowledge in mechanical design for telecommunications equipment
Hands on experience with mechanical design manufacturing
