Nokia is seeking a dedicated entry-level engineer to join the Microwave Lab. You will contribute to the design and testing of microwave radios, perform device measurements, and report on hardware status within an international team.

The role emphasizes learning, teamwork, and adaptability, with hybrid work options in Italy. Strong maths and physics background, plus English fluency, are essential for collaboration across markets.

Microwave Lab is responsible of the design of microwave radios developed in our hardware labs in accordance with international standards (mainly for the European and US markets).

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

• Requirement analysis of the devices
• Set-up of dedicated test benches
• Measurement of the devices
• HW unit test/qualification and reporting
• HW project status reporting and tracking

Key Skills And Experience

You have:

• Minimum High school degree (Diploma) in electronic or telecommunication
• Background in Maths and Physics
• Knowledge of analog circuit design, linear and non-linear
• Knowledge of microwave system theory and basic blocks (LNA, PA, synthesizer, mixer, etc..)
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Good teamwork skills
• Adaptability and accountability
• Effectively cooperating with people with different technical background and culture, dealing with diverse situations and viewpoints
• Eager to learn and expand own knowledge.

It would be nice if you also had:

• Experience on HW design
• Knowledge of waveguide microwave circuit theory
• Knowledge of microwave planar circuit theory
• Knowledge of modulation and demodulation theory, QAM signals
• Knowledge of widely used simulators such as CST and HFSS ADS, AWR and SPICE
• Knowledge of schematic capture tools such as Mentor
• Knowledge of microwave instrumentation
• Knowledge of active devices and electronic system thermal management
• Fluency in Italian.
