Luxottica, a leader in eyewear design and manufacturing, is seeking a Mechanical Design Leader for its Veneto operations. The role leads the mechanical design team to deliver robust, compliant designs and drive standardization across projects.

You will oversee planning, hours estimation, and collaboration with PMO, ensuring alignment with project milestones and engineering governance. This senior role requires strong CAD, PLM, and GD&T skills.

Your role

Mechanical Design Leader

Main responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate the mechanical design team (up to 10 people)
• Estimate engineering hours and monitor project progress
• Consultation with the PMO regarding project progress and management
• Promote technical standardization and innovation together with other COE Technical Leaders
• Ensure consistency between 3D models, drawings and BOM
• Support preliminary design reviews and proof of concept activities

Main requirements:

• Expert CAD tools (SolidWorks or Creo)
• PDM/PLM systems (Windchill preferred)
• Machinery directives and safety standards
• GD&T and technical drawingsPneumatic design knowledge
• Basic knowledge of ROI and Payback
