Job summary

OHB Italia is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for its Satellites Business Unit in Milano or Torino to drive mechanical design from concept to release. You will collaborate with system, electrical, and thermal teams and create 3D NX models and 2D drawings for space equipment.

The role requires a Master or Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years in mechanical design (space experience a plus), fluent English, and hands-on experience with NX and materials selection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in 3D and 2D modelling (NX experience is a plus).
• Experience with NX PCB Exchange design is a plus.
• Experience in both thermal & structural design is an advantage.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical design of mechanical/structural systems (space field a plus).
• Experience in materials (metallic/composite), coatings, and adhesives.
• Fluent in English.
• Experience gathering technical requirements and developing specs and documentation.
• Experience dealing with customers, subcontractors and suppliers.
• System-oriented thinking with awareness of cost and schedule impacts.
• Strong soft skills for teamwork, fast-paced environments, and problem-solving.

• Collaborate with thermal and structural engineers to accommodate complex systems
• Create 3D designs for space equipment
• Create 2D manufacturing and technical assembly and ICD drawings, as well as project-level documentation
• Optimize equipment mechanical design to improve performance and reliability
• Perform fast-prototypes for quick validation of design
• Specify, select, and acquire necessary components required for mechanical designs
• Manage part lists and libraries including standard mechanical and electrical components

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

The gross annual remuneration package will be determined based on the degree of alignment between the candidate’s profile and the requirements of the role, as well as the level of professional experience acquired. The salary range is therefore as follows:€30,000–€50,000
