SSC Space Italy, part of SSC Space, seeks a dedicated mechanical design professional for spacesystems in Milano or Torino. You will work on 3D/2D design of space equipment, collaborate with system, electrical, and thermal teams, and produce ICD drawings and project documentation.

The role emphasizes fast prototyping, component selection, and BOM management, with focus on cost, schedule, and reliability in a customer-driven environment.

Competenze

• Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in 3D and 2D modelling; NX experience a plus.
• Experience with PCB Exchange design is a plus.
• Thermal and structural design experience is advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years in mechanical design of mechanical/structural systems.
• Knowledge of metallic and composite materials, coatings and adhesives.
• Fluent in English; strong technical documentation skills.
• Experience gathering technical requirements and defining specs.
• Experience with customers, subcontractors and suppliers.

SSC Space Italy is seeking for its client's Satellites Business Unit in Milano or Torino

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Experience in 3D and 2D modelling (experience with NX software is a plus)
• Experience with NX's PCB Exchange design is a plus
• Experience in both thermal & structural design (is an advantage)
• Minimum 3 years' experience in the mechanical design of mechanical/structural systems (in space field is a plus)
• Experience in understanding of materials (metallic and composite), coatings, and adhesives
• Fluent in English
• Experience gathering technical requirements and developing technical specifications and documentations
• Experience in relationships with Customers and with Subcontractors and Suppliers during his/her past work
• System-oriented thinking and vision
• Awareness and sensitivity for cost and schedule impacts

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with system engineer (project responsible) for mechanical design requirement definition and discussion
• Collaborate with electrical and electronic engineer to define the input for mechanical design
• Collaborate with thermal and structural engineers to accommodate complex systems
• Create 3D designs for space equipment
• Create 2D manufacturing and technical assembly and ICD drawings, as well as project-level documentation
• Optimize equipment mechanical design to improve performance and reliability
• Perform fast-prototypes for quick validation of design
• Specify, select, and acquire necessary components required for mechanical designs
• Manage part lists and libraries including standard mechanical and electrical components
