Job summary

Gartner is seeking a Manager in its Consulting practice to lead IT strategy projects across digital transformation, cloud strategy, and data initiatives. The role is based in Rome or Milan with hybrid work options, serving CIOs and senior leaders to turn insights into actionable roadmaps.

You'll work within a high-impact team, applying Gartner frameworks, shaping client solutions, and mentoring peers while delivering measurable outcomes for public and private sector clients.

Qualifications

• Experience in a well-regarded management consultancy in a project delivery capacity.
• Experience in application development or digital transformation from a technical perspective.
• Understanding in core domains such as architecture, transformation, Agile/DevOps, cloud, data, GenAI.
• Prior knowledge of sizing methodologies is a plus (IFPUG).
• Excellent communication and ability to lead diverse teams.

What you’ll do

Our Managers are highly skilled members of a high-level technology strategy team. You'll play a lead role executing IT strategy projects while advising clients on how technology enables a wide range of business outcomes.

What you’ll need

• Experience within a well-regarded management consultancy in a project delivery capacity
• Experience in Application Development or Digital Transformation from a technical perspective
• Understanding in at least one core domain as for example: Application Architecture and Roadmap, Digital Transformation, Agile/DevOps, Cloud solution, Cost Optimisation, Data and GenAi etc.
• Prior knowledge of sizing methodologies is a plus i.e. IFPUG
• Experience working with one or more IT solutions
• An unwavering commitment to the success of your team, and willingness to provide and receive constructive/ corrective action when needed
• Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and the ability to assist in the creative development of solutions and strategies to solve client problems
• An ability to be hands-on and to manage multiple client priorities simultaneously
• MBA or other advanced degree preferred
• Fluent in Italian essential

Consulting Experience:

• Experience within a well-regarded management consultancy in a project delivery capacity.
• Prior experience in a problem-solving capacity such as a solution/technical architect or analyst preferred
• A consistent track record of leading people and building high-performing teams that leverage technology to drive the mission-critical priorities of commercial or government entities
• An ability to inspire and motivate professionals from both technical and non-technical backgrounds towards a common goal
• Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and the creative development of solutions and strategies to solve client problems. Must adapt Gartner frameworks and methodologies to strike at the heart of a client’s most pressing business challenges
• An ability to be hands-on and to manage multiple client priorities simultaneously
• Excellence in written and verbal communication
• Expertise with strategic consulting frameworks
• Building rapid proto-types for presentations / sales proposals
• Excellent people skills and customer relationship track record;
• Experience in developing client business relationships as part of a commercial organisation;
