World Food Programme is seeking a Localization Specialist to lead engagement with community-based organizations and support localization policy implementation in Rome, Italy. The role focuses on strengthening local actors, aligning with the 4 objectives, and coordinating across HQ and country offices to ensure inclusive, accountable humanitarian work.

The consultant will guide partnerships, conduct analyses, and contribute to funding proposals, while ensuring gender, protection, and inclusion

Competenze

• Minimum 5 years’ international development or humanitarian experience; at least 3 international.
• Experience partnering with community-based organizations (women-led, disabilities, refugees).
• Experience working with international organizations on partner/grant management.

Mansioni

• Lead implementation and coordination of Objective 2: engage with community-based organizations in food security and nutrition.
• Develop guidance with HQ and Country Offices; advise on engaging CBOs.
• Support Objective 4: strengthen local/national actors in policy and coordination spaces.
• Contribute to communications, donor engagements, and reporting; ensure gender, protection, and inclusion perspectives.
