Domyn is seeking an ambitious Legal Counsel in Milan to be the company’s key reference for privacy and data protection, guiding the business on data handling as we scale. You’ll act as a trusted advisor across a broad range of legal matters and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive growth.

The ideal candidate has a law degree, Italian bar admission, 5+ years in law firm or in-house, strong GDPR knowledge, and fluency in English and Italian. Knowledge of Chinese and Arabic is a plus.

We are looking for an ambitious Legal Counsel to join our fast-growing team in Milan. You will be the company's key point of reference for privacy and data protection, guiding the business on how to handle data responsibly as we scale. In this role, you will act as a trusted legal advisor to the business across a broad range of legal matters and you will collaborate with cross-functional departments, offering critical insights to drive our company's growth and success. The ideal candidate is a proactive, business-oriented legal professional with excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of privacy laws and regulations relevant to the company's business activities (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other applicable US state and international privacy laws), and translate legal requirements into practical guidance for the business
• Support the management of data subject requests and privacy incidents
• Conduct legal research, provide strategic advice on business transactions and guidance on legal issues arising from business operations
• Effective cooperation with the external Data Protection Officer
• Own the development and maintenance of privacy policies, notices, and internal data governance practices
• Proactive collaboration and support on compliance processes
• Draft and review contracts and other legal documentation
• Assist in developing and improving company policies and procedures

What you have

• Law degree from an accredited law school
• Bar admission in Italy is required, admission in the United States is a plus
• Minimum 5 years of experience at a law firm or in-house, including exposure to privacy/data protection matters
• Solid knowledge of privacy regulations (GDPR and familiarity with other international frameworks)
• Good knowledge of technology law
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical advice and solutions
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to make sound legal judgments under pressure
• Fluency in English and Italian, both written and spoken
• Knowledge of Chinese and Arabic is considered a strong plus

Employment terms are governed by the CCNL Commercio, the Italian National Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Commerce, Distribution and Services sector.
