Job summary

Tether Operations Limited is seeking a Head of Underwriting to oversee underwriting activities across Digital Asset Financing. This senior, hands-on role requires strong financial analysis, credit assessment, and risk management capabilities in a fast-paced, international setting.

You will evaluate financing opportunities, assess institutional counterparties, and structure transactions that balance commercial objectives with prudent risk controls.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in underwriting, lending, credit risk, or digital asset financing.
• Strong expertise in financial analysis, counterparty assessment, loan structuring (LTV, rates, thresholds).
• Understanding of collateral types including BTC/ETH, custody and transfers.
• Margin mechanics awareness: margin requirements, collateralisation, LTV, thresholds, and liquidation processes.
• Experience with counterparty due diligence and assessing business models, ownership structures, and risk factors.
• Proven ability to monitor risk, collateral coverage, margin calls, and escalate emerging risks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the credit assessment of borrowers (funds, miners, trading firms, corporates) from due diligence through recommendations.
• Analyze counterparty financial statements, liquidity, leverage, trading strategy, and business models for creditworthiness.
• Evaluate digital asset collateral, market volatility, liquidity, and liquidation risks.
• Assess operational and custodial setups of counterparties.
• Structure terms including appropriate LTV, tenor, covenants and margining.
• Identify and assess counterparty, market, concentration, and operational risks in proposed transactions.
• Prepare clear underwriting assessments and present recommendations to decision-makers.
• Monitor exposures and propose mitigation measures as needed.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure efficient transaction execution while maintaining underwriting standards.
• Continuously enhance underwriting methodologies for evolving digital asset markets.
