Job summary

Baker Hughes in Italy is seeking a Compressors & Radial Expanders New Product Development Mechanical Configuration Lead Design Engineer. You will drive machine selection and mechanical configuration across new products, including design, validation and industrialization, in a challenging energy technology environment.

The role requires a Master in Mechanical or Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, strong CAD/FEA skills, turbomachinery experience, and fluent English.

Qualifications

• Master Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering.
• Good knowledge of mechanical configuration and drawings.
• Knowledge of basic thermodynamics and aerodynamics of turbomachinery.
• Experience with CAD and FEA techniques.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Drive the machine selection and the mechanical configuration of new products & solutions including the design, validation and industrialization phase.
• Lead and execute main calculations, mechanical analyses, cost analyses, manufacturability and drawings in order to technically define the machine from a configuration point of view.
• Lead ideas providing relevant effort in structuring conceptual roadmaps to target the goals.
• Definition of new design tools and validation of new concepts and products.
• Lead detailed technical reports and documentation of the design and testing phases.
