Mane Contract Services are recruiting for a Lead Electrical Engineer to join a major data centre project in Milan, Italy. This full‑time role offers a hands-on leadership position across electrical design, installation, commissioning and handover, with long‑term stability and career development in Europe.

You will lead the electrical engineering activities, coordinate with project teams, clients and vendors, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring designs are robust and compliant.

Competenze

• 3rd level qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• 7+ years' project engineering experience, preferably within construction.
• Experience with LV and MV electrical systems.
• Data Centre, Commercial, Industrial or Pharmaceutical environments experience.
• Knowledge of BS7671, ETCI, Building Regulations, EN and IEC standards.
• Experience with Amtech, Dialux, AutoCAD 2D, Adobe Pro and MS Office.
• Strong client, vendor, contractor and design team management.
• Strong commercial awareness and project management skills.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to lead and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong focus on EHS, quality and work management processes.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers.

Mane Contract Services are currently recruiting for an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to join a leading international engineering contractor working on a major data centre project in Milan.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Electrical Engineer looking to take a leadership role across electrical design, engineering coordination, installation, commissioning and handover.

With a significant pipeline of projects for the next 5+ years, this position offers long-term stability, career development and the opportunity to work on some of Europe's most technically advanced engineering projects.

The Opportunity:

As Lead Electrical Engineer, you will take responsibility for electrical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with the Project Manager, design team, BIM, construction teams, vendors and client.

You’ll ensure electrical designs are technically robust, constructible and compliant, while supporting successful installation, commissioning and handover.

This is a hands‑on leadership position offering significant technical responsibility and the opportunity to lead engineering activities and mentor junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical engineering and design management activities throughout the project
• Review electrical designs and specifications, identifying gaps, clashes and technical risks
• Validate cable sizing, technical assessments and electrical solutions
• Prepare and manage electrical technical submittals and approvals
• Coordinate electrical equipment procurement, delivery and technical compliance
• Work closely with BIM and construction teams to ensure designs are constructible and coordinated
• Liaise with clients, designers, vendors and subcontractors to resolve technical issues
• Monitor engineering and installation progress against the construction programme
• Conduct electrical system walk‑downs to verify compliance with drawings and specifications
• Coordinate testing, commissioning and handover activities
• Compile and manage test packs, FTOPs and O&Ms
• Manage specialist vendors throughout commissioning
• Provide technical support to estimating, procurement, commercial and project bid teams
• Support QA processes and continuous improvement initiatives
• Mentor and coach junior engineers and graduates

What We're Looking For:

We’re looking to speak with experienced Electrical Engineers with a strong background in building services, data centres or technically complex construction projects.

You’ll ideally have:

• 3rd level qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• 7+ years' project engineering experience, preferably within construction
• Strong experience with LV and MV electrical systems
• Proven experience delivering projects within Data Centre, Commercial, Industrial or Pharmaceutical environments
• Knowledge of BS7671, ETCI, Building Regulations, EN and IEC standards
• Experience with Amtech, Dialux, AutoCAD 2D, Adobe Pro and MS Office
• Strong experience managing clients, vendors, contractors and design teams
• Experience with technical reviews, assessments and submittals
• Strong commercial awareness and project management skills
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem‑solving abilities
• Ability to lead, influence and manage multiple priorities
• Strong focus on EHS, quality and work management processes
• Experience mentoring and developing junior engineers
