Capco is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to join our AI Lab in Milano, working on production-grade AI solutions, including LLM orchestration, AI agents and RAG architectures. You will translate business needs into robust technical architectures and mentor peers while writing production code.

The role requires strong Python skills, enterprise experience, and a track record of delivering secure, scalable AI systems. Milano hybrid work model offered with client-facing opportunities.

Competenze

• 8+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering or similar roles.
• Strong hands-on software engineering skills and production code in Python or equivalent.
• Experience designing and developing LLM and Agentic AI applications, including AI agents and LLM orchestration.
• Strong understanding of RAG architectures, retrieval approaches and vector-based search.
• Experience with agentic frameworks and integration approaches such as LangChain, LangGraph, MCP or comparable technologies.
• Understanding of testing and evaluating non-deterministic AI systems, including monitoring and observability.
• Strong software architecture fundamentals, APIs, distributed systems, and production reliability.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP) and cloud-native practices.
• Experience providing technical leadership through architecture/design reviews and mentoring.
• Solid professional English.
• Experience with multi-agent architectures and AI governance concepts.

Mansioni

• Design and own end-to-end architecture of Generative and Agentic AI solutions, including orchestration and AI agents.
• Remain hands-on, building complex components and moving prototypes to production.
• Define engineering standards, testing strategies, guardrails, observability and CI/CD for AI apps.
• Design scalable, secure AI systems considering performance, latency, and cost.
• Evaluate and select LLMs, frameworks, platforms and tools based on requirements.
• Lead design reviews, mentor engineers and raise engineering standards.
• Work with clients and stakeholders to translate business needs into architectural decisions.
• Contribute to technical documentation and AI thought leadership.
