Lever, Inc. is seeking an Expert Team Lead, SWE based in Italy to drive hands-on leadership for a team of AI Tutors. You will review, evaluate, and improve technical work while maintaining data quality at scale.

You will establish quality standards, monitor performance, and translate model requirements into effective data strategies. This role combines leadership with senior SWE skills in a fast-paced, autonomous environment.

Competenze

• 1+ years of hands-on data labeling, annotation, AI training, evaluation, or similar quality/ops work.
• Experience building or contributing to scalable software applications.
• Understanding of data quality metrics and annotation workflows.
• Knowledge of AI/ML concepts and how data affects model performance.
• Experience in people management, coaching, or training program development.
• Preferred experience leading small teams in data labeling or technical ops.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in fast-moving environments.
• Strong analytical skills and KPI-driven improvement mindset.
• Experience working with distributed teams and mixed employment models.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Mansioni

• Own end-to-end quality and delivery for assigned human data projects.
• Lead and coach a team of AI Tutors; conduct performance reviews and development plans.
• Participate in labeling, annotation, evaluation, and review activities.
• Establish QA processes, taxonomy standards, and evaluation criteria.
• Monitor KPIs and identify bottlenecks to improve team efficiency.
• Develop training materials and certification benchmarks; manage workforce changes.
• Collaborate with data managers and engineers to translate model requirements into strategies.
