Job summary

Copan Wasp S.r.l., part of Copan Group, seeks a Laboratory Optimization Expert in Lombardy to advance automation solutions for clinical microbiology labs. You will analyze workflows, collect data, and demonstrate the value of Total Laboratory Automation using LEAN tools.

The role requires knowledge of lab operations, lean/six sigma, and strong communication. On-site collaboration with sales, field engineers, and distributors is essential; MS Office proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of clinical microbiology laboratory operations.
• Experience with lean workflow concepts (5S, value stream mapping, 6-Sigma) preferred.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities; able to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Understand Copan’s lab automation solutions and explain operations clearly.
• Perform on-site Lean Laboratory Assessments to identify opportunities.
• Assess workflows, space, equipment, and processes using Lean methods; recommend improvements.
• Identify problems and show benefits in quality, workflow, turnaround time, and morale.
• Propose lab designs integrating WASP/WASPLab components with Lean principles.
• Create reports supporting capital expenditure justifications for modular facilities.
• Attend meetings and events to support sales and marketing goals.
• Manage administrative duties: expenses, reporting, and asset use.
