Job summary

The Social Hub is seeking a Kitchen Host to foster a warm, safe and welcoming communal kitchen for students in Italy. You’ll mentor the community, teach basic cooking and food safety, and keep the space stocked and organized.

Your role combines hospitality with practical kitchen skills in a lively, multinational environment that values teamwork and personal growth. Based in Rome, you’ll engage with students, support life skills, and help create a home-like atmosphere through friendly guidance,

Qualifications

• Friendly, approachable and ready to lend a hand.
• Background in kitchens, cooking classes, or community work.
• Naturally tidy and organized, and good with people.
• Motivated, flexible, and unfazed by a busy kitchen during peak hours.
• Fluent in English and Italian; extra languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be a welcoming presence in the kitchen.
• Maintain the kitchen as a clean, safe, and welcoming space for everyone.
• Teach basics of cooking and food safety in a hands-on way.
• Support students to become confident, independent users of the space.
• Encourage ownership and responsibility in the student community.
• Occasionally assist with simple food prep or host small cooking activities.
• Ensure kitchen equipment and stocks are in good shape and maintained.
• Handle cleaning tasks with care and a big smile.
• Spot and report broken items or maintenance needs.
