3Brain AG is seeking a Junior Software Developer to join our software team in Genova, Italy. The role focuses on object-oriented programming, data visualization, and GUI development for scientific data analysis.

You will support users, contribute to documentation, and help improve software performance and user experience in a fast-growing biotech environment.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in bio-informatics, ICT Engineering, informatics, bioengineering or similar.
• 2 years of experience in Object Oriented Programming (preferrable C#, Java), and/or front-end development through GUI/UX tools (preferrable data oriented).
• Good English language skills, also written communication skills with an ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and accessible language.
• Applicant must have an EU residence permit.

Tasks

We are looking for a Junior Software Developer with strong Object Oriented Programming skills and experience or interest in statistical analysis and front-end development for scientific data visualization. The role includes supporting users on the software and managing user manuals and documentation for customers. The candidate will be part of our growing software team shaping the future of our products. Main responsibilities:

• Contribute to design, develop, and maintain high-quality code in O-O .NET based programming Design and implement strategies to manage high-volume data (e.g., data pipelines, caching, indexing, and efficient file formats) to enable fast visualisation, filtering, and export of results.
• Develop statistical postprocessing algorithms and data manipulation strategies, aimed for visualization purposes by means of graphs, diagrams, to facilitate data interpretation and understanding the results.
• Develop GUI and bioanalytical tools for scientific data representation and visualisation, implementing plots, diagrams, and UX components that help users explore data, interpret results, and make decisions.
• Develop GUI tools and components, to support and facilitate the user experience handling the results and customizing the representationWrite and maintain technical documentation and user manuals, producing clear step-by-step instructions, reference material, and visuals that support both new and advanced users.
• Collaborate in developing and implementing solutions to address errors, enhance software performance, and improve user experience.
• Contribute to the development of test protocols, sequential (manual) and/or automated testing procedures, and perform execution to ensure thorough testing of applications before user distribution.
• Document code to facilitate internal understandability and management, document technical deliverables through use cases and specifications, preparation of reports for example on problems encountered by customers and on the software life cycle.
• Collaborate with fellow bioinformatics data analysts and developers in scientific and technical activities related to the Company's products, such as, for example, experimenting with new algorithms, researching the most up-to-date bioinformatics data manipulation tools, and supporting in the analysis of data collected by customers.
• Adhere to company standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements during the development process.
• Write and maintain technical documentation and user manuals, producing clear step-bystep instructions, reference material, and visuals that support both new and advanced users.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in bio-informatics, ICT Engineering, informatics, bioengineering or similar.
• 2 years of experience in Object Oriented Programming (preferrable C#, Java), and/or front-end development through GUI/UX tools (preferrable data oriented).
• Good English language skills, also written communication skills with an ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and accessible language.
• Collaborative problem-solving ability, action-oriented and results-focused.
• Applicant must have an EU residence permit.

Additional Qualifications

• Strong preference is given to candidates who have expertise or experience with biological data, particularly those specialising in neurobiology and focusing on data representation or visualisation.
• Candidates with experience in C#, and .NET technologies.
• Knowledge/experience with graphic and sw tools used in technical writing (e.g., Retype, MadCap Flare, GraphPad Prism) for creating visuals, diagrams and structured content.
