Job summary

RINA is seeking a Junior Optical & Photonics Engineer to join the Electronics and System Engineering division in Turin. You will support development, testing, validation, and performance assessment of optical, photonic, and optoelectronic systems and components.

You’ll work across lab campaigns, modelling, data analysis, and documentation, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a structured industrial environment, with onsite requirements in the Turin area.

Qualifications

• Background in optics, photonics, and related disciplines.
• Basic knowledge of laser technologies, fibre optics, and electro-optical systems.
• Experience with laboratory measurements, data analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with numerical modelling and engineering analysis software.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and presentations.
• English proficiency for technical activities and documentation.
• Willingness to work onsite in Turin and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support development, testing, validation, and performance assessment of optical and photonic systems.
• Contribute to high-power fibre lasers, photonic devices, and electro-optical tech.
• Assist in defining architectures, requirements and performance parameters.
• Support modelling, simulations, and data analysis of projects.
• Participate in laboratory campaigns and data interpretation.
• Prepare technical documentation and assist reporting.
