IC Resources is seeking an Optical Communications Systems Engineer in Lombardy, Italy. The role focuses on validation and characterisation of next-generation optical communication products, covering high-speed modulators, telecom systems and photonic device performance.

You will work in an R&D team to develop advanced telecom technologies, build lab test setups, and deliver robust test plans and reports for cross-functional teams.

Competenze

• Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Photonics or related field.
• 3–8 years of experience in testing, validation or characterisation of optical/ telecom products.
• Experience with optical communication systems, fibre-optic transmission, or telecom architectures.
• Strong understanding of system-level performance and device behaviour.
• Hands-on use of laboratory instrumentation and data analysis tools.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in international teams.

Mansioni

• Develop and execute test plans to verify functionality, performance, and robustness.
• Define and implement system-level validation strategies for telecom and photonic devices.
• Design and replicate real-world customer operating conditions in tests.
• Build laboratory test environments representative of telecom systems.
• Characterise high-speed modulators and optical hardware throughout development.
• Analyse data, identify limitations, and perform root-cause investigations.
• Develop automated test procedures to improve repeatability and efficiency.
• Produce clear technical reports and recommendations from results.
• Collaborate with design, process and application engineering teams to improve product performance.
