Job summary

Illumina is seeking a Junior Field Service Engineer for Italy, based in Campania or Puglia, with field travel up to 80%. The role requires an engineering foundation, fresh MSc/BSc, and strong problem-solving and communication abilities.

The engineer will install, maintain, repair, and upgrade Illumina instruments, troubleshoot on-site, and coordinate service requests while supporting new installations and instrument validation. Fluency in Italian and English is essential.

Qualifications

• MSc in Engineering or BSc with relevant field experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% and reside in Italy.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Support installation, maintenance, repair and upgrade of Illumina instrument systems.
• Troubleshoot issues and provide on-site assistance to customers.
• Coordinate service requests and timely resolutions.
• Support instrument installations, facility inspections and validation.
• Maintain service-parts inventory to support interventions.
• Collaborate with sales/marketing on new system placements and contracts.
• Build relationships with customers and internal partners.
