Job summary

Alstom in Bologna is seeking a VIE - Junior Buyer to start a career in procurement within a cutting-edge rail project. You’ll support sourcing and supplier management, work with project teams, and help deploy the Trackside commodities strategy.

Day-to-day you’ll identify needs, launch RFQs with Italian and LLCC suppliers, negotiate cost reductions, and ensure QCD targets while handling initial issues and upholding Alstom's ethics.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field.
• Experience or understanding of sourcing and supplier relationship management.
• Knowledge of Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) principles.
• Familiarity with SAP and advanced Excel skills.
• Fluency in French and English; basic Italian is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify project and business needs for procurement.
• Prepare and launch RFQs with Italian and LLCC suppliers using standard tools.
• Negotiate cost reductions with suppliers.
• Contribute to order placement and supplier performance.
• Ensure QCD targets and manage initial issues before escalation.
• Adhere to ethics guidelines and collaborate with project teams.
