Job summary

Trina Solar Limited (TSL) seeks an experienced origination professional to develop, structure and manage revenue contracts for solar and battery storage projects in Italy. Based in Rome, you will drive negotiations from initial contact to signed agreements, interfacing with development, finance, legal and regional teams.

You will originate long-term and short-term energy contracts, coordinate with middle office on pricing, and ensure bankable terms for lenders and buyers, with regular travel in

Qualifications

• 3–4 years in the Italian power market origination, structuring, trading or route-to-market.
• Strong understanding of how renewable and storage assets make money in Italy (zones, dispatch, balancing, GOs).
• Strong Excel skills and ability to value PPAs or tolling offers.
• Fluent Italian and English (C1+).
• Degree in engineering, economics, finance or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Run offtake processes for Italian solar and BESS projects: prepare tender, shortlist counterparties, compare bids and recommend.
• Originate long-term PPA opportunities (pay-as-produced, baseload, hybrid) with utilities, traders and industrial buyers; support negotiations to signature.
• Originate short-term route-to-market contracts covering dispatch, imbalance, and GO sales.
• Structure revenue contracts for battery storage: tolling, floors and revenue-share with optimisers; participate in MACSE and capacity/ancillary services.
• Collaborate with middle office on pricing of offers; understand drivers (price capture, shape, volume, imbalance) and defend them to counterparties.
• Ensure contracts are bankable for lenders and buyers at signing and through life.
• Review term sheets and long-form contracts (EFET, ISDA, bespoke) with legal; flag change-in-law and other risks.
• Step in when changes occur during a contract life (curtailment, outages, regulatory shifts) and agree handling with counterparties.
• Provide market feedback on buyers, prices and terms; build a counterparties network; represent Trina at industry events.
• Travel regularly within Italy and occasionally to the rest of Europe.
