European Tech Recruit is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the IT workstream of a major new-site expansion project in Catania, Italy. You will oversee LAN, WLAN, WAN and ISP connectivity and coordinate network infrastructure across offices, labs and shared spaces.

Fluent Italian and English are essential, with strong stakeholder and supplier management skills. The role requires coordinating local and international IT teams through planning, migration, testing and cutover

IT Project Manager – Infrastructure & Site Expansion - Catania, Italy (12-Month Contract)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the IT workstream of a major new-site expansion project in Catania.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead planning and delivery of LAN, WLAN, WAN and ISP connectivity.
• Coordinate network architecture, routing, firewall and security requirements.
• Ensure IT requirements for offices, laboratories and shared spaces are incorporated into the project.
• Coordinate workplace IT, meeting-room and video-conferencing requirements.
• Align local requirements with global IT standards.
• Work with Facility Management, construction teams and external suppliers to integrate IT requirements into the new building.
• Coordinate server/rack rooms, patch rooms, UPS, patch panels and core IT infrastructure.
• Coordinate meeting-room technology and associated layouts.
• Manage IT dependencies within the wider construction programme.
• Develop and manage IT migration and implementation plans.
• Coordinate testing, acceptance and cutover activities.
• Establish go/no-go criteria and rollback strategies.
• Coordinate local and global IT teams throughout implementation.
• Monitor project risks, dependencies, milestones and delivery.
• Decommissioning and asset documentation.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing IT infrastructure or technical IT projects.
• Strong understanding of LAN, WLAN, WAN and network connectivity.
• Experience with IT migration, implementation, deployment or site relocation.
• Experience with new-build, construction, relocation or major site projects is highly desirable.
• Understanding of workplace IT and meeting-room technology.
• Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills.
• Experience coordinating local and international/global teams.
• Strong project documentation and organisational skills.
• Structured, proactive approach to project delivery.
• Fluent Italian and strong English are essential.
