WHD Consulting Ltd. in Sicily seeks an IT Project Manager for an 18-month contract to lead IT infrastructure, connectivity, and workplace IT projects across local and global teams. You will drive planning, migration, and documentation to ensure successful delivery.

You will coordinate with Facility Management and construction partners while aligning IT delivery with business stakeholders. Fluency in Italian and English is required.

IT Project Manager - 18mth Contract

Role Description

The IT Project Manager is responsible for the overall management, planning, and execution of all IT-related activities. He acts as the central interface between local IT teams, global IT teams (Connectivity, Lab IT, Workplace IT), Facility Management (FM), construction project teams, as well as external service providers.

The IT Project Manager coordinates global and local IT teams, Real Estate and Site IT, is responsible for migration and decommissioning activities, and delivers key project milestones such as cut-over plans, runbooks, and project documentation.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Coordination of IT Infrastructure Planning

• Network design (LAN, WLAN, ISP)
• Integration into the global network (routing, firewall, policies)
• Planning of various network security zones
• Workplace and meeting room IT (incl. VC technology, booking systems)
• Alignment of IT requirements with business stakeholders
• Requirements for lab areas (patching, WLAN, security)
• Requirements for office workplaces (patching, WLAN, additional needs)

Global Coordination

• Global Connectivity: network architectures, security policies, global standards
• Global Lab IT: coordination of lab requirements, integration into the network
• Global Workplace IT: workplace standards, meeting-room design, hardware/software standards
• Global WAN: coordination ISP activities with the global WAN team

Construction - Move Coordination

• Ensuring correct integration of all IT requirements (e.g. rack layout, UPS, patch panels) into construction planning (with Facility Management, general planners, construction companies)
• Provision of core IT and patch room layouts for WAN and LAN connectivity
• Coordination of meeting room/videoconference room layouts (new MTR systems, transfer of existing MTR systems)

Migration, Implementation & Monitoring

• Creation of migration planning, testing, acceptance procedures, coordination of global and local cut-over activities, and ensuring a smooth transition.

Documentation / Project Deliverables

• Cut-over plan: transition planning, testing, rollback strategy, go/no-go criteria
• Coordination and review of runbooks for individual IT infrastructure components
• Review of project documentation: network documentation, workplace plans, Lab IT setup
• Decommissioning documentation: shutdown planning, asset documentation, compliance evidence

Qualification Requirements

• Experience in IT project management, global IT structures, workplace IT and understanding of network infrastructures. Excellent communication and documentation skills in Italian and English, proactive stakeholder management, structured working style.
