Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG is looking for a Network and Systems Engineer for the Expansion Project in Trieste. The successful candidate will manage IT hardware projects, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure compliance with safety and security standards.
The role requires 5+ years of experience in IT project management with a focus on hardware. Ideal candidates should be willing to relocate to Trieste and possess good command of English, with Italian or German as a plus. A degree in IT or Engineering is required.

HHLA PLT Italy is a multipurpose maritime terminal started in 2021, located in the middle of the fast-growing North Adriatic market. Here, the Expansion Project Team, carried out by the company Logistica Giuliana, is planning and executing a game changer phased project aiming to integrate the current facility into a state‑of‑the‑art container and Ro‑Ro terminal, making use of the most advanced technologies and expertise.
To support this transformation, we are looking for a Network and Systems Engineer to join the Expansion Project Team.
As Network and Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of IT hardware infrastructure required for the future terminal. You will ensure that hardware systems are properly specified, delivered, installed and integrated in line with project timelines, operational requirements and safety standards.
You will act as a key interface between IT, Operations, Engineering, external suppliers and project stakeholders, ensuring smooth execution across all expansion phases.
We are looking for a hands‑on project manager with strong technical understanding and the ability to coordinate complex hardware deployments in an industrial environment.
The ideal candidate would have a valid EU working permit and would be willing to relocate to Trieste in short notice.
