Job summary

Mediobanca is seeking an intern for the Group Treasury – Collateral Management Desk. You will gain knowledge in maximizing the usage of financial collateral at group level and support collateral optimization, monitoring, and advisory activities.

Ideal candidates are graduating or pursuing a master in Economics or finance, with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Excel. English fluency and teamwork are essential for success at Mediobanca.

Qualifications

• Graduating students or master degree in Economics or scientific subjects (with specialization in finance).

Opportunity Description

Intern will achieve knowledge in efficiently maximizing the usage of financial collateral at group level through the following activities in charge to the Desk:

• Active and independent management of the collateral inventory;
• Collateral transformation and optimization in cooperation, as the case may be, with the other Business Units and Group entities;
• Optimization of collateralized transactions margining;
• Collateral monitoring and reporting;
• Advisory in collateral-based transactions;
• Support - as the case may be - the structuring of new transactions;
• Supporting the activity related to the evaluation of Credit Risk Mitigation criteria for financial collateral.

Role

Placed into the Group Treasury – Collateral Management Desk, the intern will work with the support of the other operational office resources in the:

• Collateral optimization - analyzing the collateral inventory and finding the cheapest to deliver assets
• Collateral monitoring and reporting
• Check operations in the front office systems
• Support in collateral-based transactions advisory
• Support trading desks on spot requests
• Other specific analysis and reporting

The intern may also take part in projects related to collateral optimization / rationalization.

Requisiti

Education

Graduating students or master degree in Economics or scientific subjects (with specialization in finance).

Behavioral skills

Attention to details, precision, analytical aptitude, willingness to learn and flexibility.

Highly motivated with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in team, manage tight deadlines and working priorities.

Technical skills

Strong analytical and presentation skills

Good knowledge of financial products (in particular fixed income and derivatives)

Fluent English (written and spoken)

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially on Excel)

Knowledge of VBA programming language and Bloomberg is a plus.
